Description
Diadem Icon Graphite Pickleball Paddle The Icon Graphite Paddle by Diadem is the perfect expression of technology, innovation, and what may very well be the future of pickleball. Being Diadem’s first foray into pickleball paddle manufacturing, the Icon brings with it a new perspective on the research and technology comprising today’s paddles. Firstly, it features a slimmer-than-average polymer honeycomb core, at just 12mm thick (0.47″). A thin core usually means greater power; but hang on. The honeycomb cells in the Icon’s core are also smaller-than-average in diameter, at just 8mm across. This is what Diadem refers to as “honeycomb density,” a term we really haven’t heard much in pickleball paddle manufacturing circles, which translates to a denser core and solid feel. Next, Diadem mates this unique core to a face material comprised of high-grade, Japanese-sourced carbon fiber for soft-yet-powerful performance from the baseline. In addition to some pretty eye-catching graphics covering the face (“Miami Vice?!”), Diadem applies a proprietary “Spin RP” polyurethane coating which leaves the face slightly tacky, or sticky, and translates to an ability to spin pickleballs easily using adhesion rather than rough texture. Finally, the entire outer edge of Diadem Icon’s edge is protected by a unique, replaceable, 3-piece edge guard tacked onto the outer edge of the paddle. It’s flush-mounted so it doesn’t overlap the face and maximizes the usable striking surface of the paddle. The Icon Graphite Pickleball Paddle from Diadem is offered in two weights, with the light version coming in at 7.8 oz. and the midweight version coming in at 8.1 oz. on average. The grip is a comfort max grip with a small 4 1/8″ circumference wrapping a 5 1/4 long handle. The paddles overall length is 16″, offering a little extra reach and versatility. With Diadem’s first major entry into the pickleball paddle market, the Icon Graphite is definitely ready to help you take your pickleball game to the next level. Actual grip sizes may vary up to 1/8″.
